My first book, Victorian Ethical Optics: Innocent Eyes and Aberrant Bodies was published in 2024 by Oxford University Press.

I’m currently working on a book entitled Pre-Raphaelite in Black, tracing the influence of Italian Renaissance painting on Pre-Raphaelite depictions of Black subjects. I am also writing a book of non-fiction essays called The Art of Holding.

My work has been published in a range of venues including GLQ, Victorian Studies, Word and Image, Victorian Poetry, Victorian Literature and Culture, and Literature Compass.

In November 2024, I served as Guest Critic for The Brooklyn Rail. My Critics Page was called “EARLY/MODERN/ITALY.”
